B+

I'm just too freakin' sensitive right now to deal with criticism even if it is constructive. I just can't deal.

Accomplishments thus far.

I have come to the conclusion it is very weird to be about 21 and see actors or other people in the public spotlight who are the same age. It's like they've have more or less the same amount of time on this planet, yet they are famous. I'm not expecting to be famous at any point in my life, but it's like they have set out to accomplish a huge goal and they have attained it. Most of them have had to work hard and such, but it feels like they have had so much success in a short life time and I haven't even begun; it makes me feel very slow and unaccomplished. Life in the slow lane. I'm sitting here at a desk practicing photo identification of marine mammals and they're walking red carpets and on the set of the next major blockbuster. I wonder if I'm every going to do anything spectacular in life, to make a mark on this world or if I will just be here and gone like so many others. I suppose that's up to myself, but I wish I knew what or even if I have my spectacular moment, I wish it was bright and flashy like a movie.

Hmmm

Teri is...just a little bit lonely. Curse of enjoying cheesy stories/movies, it usually just drudges up memories of how alone I am LoL. Or at least gives me a lame excuse on why I'm not reading papers for my term paper and or studying for my midterm and or working on my lab report. *sigh*

I'm just in a bit of a spring rut. Technically right now I'm in a chair in the Science and Engineering Library. But mentally I'm just in a spring rut. I'd call it senioritis, but I'm not graduating until next year and I really do not want to start my senioritis this year. LoL Although my senioritis next year will probably be more like FREAKING out about entering the real world...and finding a job. Working...for money? PREPOSTEROUS! I just don't want to do anything, I need a break, which is horrifying since I only have two classes (and a lab). I just need two days of doing nothing at home. Living at school is awesome 99.9% of the time but .1% of the time it's nice to relax at home. Maybe I'll do something outrageous this weekend eh?

Dear Cupid...

Dear Cupid,
For Valentine's Day I would really like a hockey guy with hot hockey hair. Or a cute Scottish guy with a melt-worthy Scottish accent. I suppose third on the list would be anyone else from the UK or Australia, I'd even settle for a Welshman. :)
Please deliver ASAP. (I only put that in because I haven't gotten shit from you for these past 21 years)

Thank you,
Teri

Pro's and Con's

Pros: being a 10 minute bus ride away from the beach :)
Cons: being a 10 minute bus ride away from the beach :(

So back I go to studying....and not watching shark byte episodes online or ranting at my blog

Positive spin

Sometimes you need to look on the bright side of things. I think that would be the best thing to do today. So to start with the negative. I woke up at 8:40am to take a 9:30 shuttle to the Long Marine Lab so I could find a professor to sign off on my academic plan and declare my major by jan. 31st. If I do not declare my major by Jan 31, they will put a hold on my enrollment, which is definitely no bueno. Anyway, so this was perfect, I would take the shuttle down there, get there by 10am, when the professor's office hour's start, and then definitely be out of there by 12 when the shuttle arrives, and get to my class at 2:00pm with PLENTY of time. And then tomorrow go to bio department to get the department to sign off and then be fully done before thursday.

The day starts out well, I get there, get on the proper shuttle, get to the lab a little early even. I find his office at precisely 10am...no one's there. :( So I read some of the posters, occupy myself for 10 or so minutes. I let him know that I was coming today to sign off so he knew at least someone was coming to office hours. I wander for a few more minutes and then look around at the other doors, and right behind his office was his lab, the lights were on, and I saw someone inside, so I knocked and asked where I could find the professor. They were kind enough to tell me he probably wasn't going to be in today because his child was sick. So then I walked ALL the way back to the nearest bus stop...which was pretty freaking far from the lab. And there was no pedestrian walk way, just sorta a wide road....and I had to walk in the squishy damp muddy part, so as not to get run over by cars. And then when I arrive at the bus stop to find that I just missed the bus by 15 minutes and it only comes every hour.

Now for the bright side of things. I was smart enough to bring both my umbrella and sunglasses, both of which I used today. :) I got to the lab a little early, so I took a little walk around the Seymore Center, it's RIGHT off of the cliffs, and there's a trail that goes right to the cliff, you can see into the water and watch all of the waves come in. It's so beautiful, I'm so luck that I can go to a school where I'm just a 15 minute shuttle ride from such gorgeous scenes like that. So I did wait 10 or 15 minutes, but I didn't wait the whole two freakin' hours like the fool I sometimes am. I had enough sense to knock on the door and ask someone :) AND the dude that answered the door was HOT. I knocked and started out with my question, but about half way through, I was just nearly bumbling...good thing it wasn't a very long question. LoL I'm sure I sounded like a food, but the dude had short brownish hair and deep blue eyes. *sigh* AND he had a french accent! YEAH. That 90 seconds was totally worth getting up at 8:40am. :D It's fabulous how a cute guy can perk up any day. Anyway, so then I found out that he wasn't there, I searched really quickly and I found that there is one other professor I can talk to who happens to be ON campus like 30 seconds away from my class and who I can see tomorrow. (his reviews are NOT that good, but I'm not going to be in his class, I just need his signature LoL). And then I had the long walk back, but I am SO lucky there's a break in the 2008 deluge, and the walk back was really nice, it didn't seem too long I had my iShuf and it was great to be out in the sun. Again it is not raining, so I 1) won't get drenched waiting for the bus for the next 45 minutes and 2) I can use my laptop to get some of my article reading for wednesday. :)

Some crappy things happened, but then nothing that can't be remedied hopefully tomorrow. Just next time definitely need to keep on top of deadlines LoL. :)

Lunch

For lunch (which I made up myself) I had 1 egg, combined with about 4 oz. of cheddar cheese (crumbled) , a sprinkling of parmesan cheese, one slide of deli canadian bacon ripped into pieces. Scrambled it and cooked until the eggs were done.

Put it over (reheated) steamed rice and topped it all off with green taco sauce.
MOST GREATEST LUNCH EVER. (This quarter anyways) LoL Mighty tasty, I'll probably have it three more times this week.

Okay,that is all.
