Okay here comes the long and probably boring recap of my summer vacation trip with my mom and sister.

Dude, first note: THE DMV SUUUUUUUUUUUCKS. Okay so I took and passed my behind the wheel test on april 27. The temp license was going to expire on june 25. They said it should only take 2-4 weeks to get it, after four weeks, I called the telephone number and it said call after six. so I waited six weeks and the operator said it was being "processed" So I call again and then they said it'll most likely come by July 8th. My temp one expired on june 25 and I really needed to drive on July 9th (cause I start work). So they said I should renew my temp.

The DMV is open on the third saturday of every month and opens at 8AM in the morning. There were no appointments left so my mom went with me to go early and get inline hoping we could just get in, so I got up at 6:45 IN THE FREAKING MORNING! (keep in mind my flight doesn't leave until 14:00 for once not an early flight but i gotta get my butt up cause the dmv screwed up anyways) and get inline. We got there at 7:15 ish and there was already 15-20 people inline and by 8:00 it was around the building. Anyways we got in and it took like three seconds to get it renewed yaddah yaddah etc. but dude, here's the kicker. I didn't have to even go, my license came while I was on vacation.
gr. gr you dmv!

So everything went okay on the trip there, we had to change planes in Idaho, and then landed in Utah at like 6:30 ish...There was some drama with the rental car, stupid people. We reserved the car, but they still ran out (what's even the point of reserving) and the lady gives us a smaller car, she says for a lower rate, but not really. (and at the end of our trip they charge us $50.00 for gas when we told them we'd fill it up.)

We had dinner that night at the cracker barrel. Quite a cool place, southern food, grits, chickin' fried steak (which my sister though was chicken HA!), fried apples, chicken n' dumplins. (which I had) not so bad, but kinda heavy. White gravy and mashed potatoes..there were tons of stuff on the walls like antique stuff pretty cool to look at and then a small shop, I bought a pack of Beemans' gum, 2 Modjeskas GREATEST THINGS EVER! ahhhhhhh bad for diabetics LoL, Watermelon drops and candy sticks. all of that was for under five dollars! great prices :D

This is the gum I bought

and that's a modjeska, only mine were square :)

The drive to the resort took a loooooong time, we got a little lost, but we eventually got there. The place was really nice, it's like a hotel room with three adjoining rooms, so two were bedrooms and one was like a common, it had a dining room table and small kitchen etc. The air is really dry up there (the resort was in The Wasatch-Cache National Forest) and about 8,000 feet in elevation...

Here's where we stayed

Great view of the mountains from our rooms. Sunday and Monday were lame days...I had uhm..feminine issues so i was on the couch in paaaaaain :( and my mom and sister went out swimming and other stuff at the resort. Tuesday, we went shopping around downtown, they have some nice shopping areas! Lots of the same stores as here.

Wednesday oooooooooooh boy wednesday... We went to one of the closer national parks, to see the Timpanogos Caves. Okay...so yeah, there was a little thing, in the newsletter, this is a streneus hike etc..and there was a small sign saying if you have a heart condition, neck, back..yaddah yaddah yaddah. don't do it. We it also says all of that on rollercoaster rides and I can do those so I figured I could do this...WRONG!!!!!!! WRONG WRONG WRONG WROOOOONG! oh man. that was the most difficult hike ever! it doesn't help that you're starting out at 6,000feet in elevation going up to 7,700feet. The air is so thin, it's so hard to breath. The hike was a mile and half and just kept going up and up and up, I was having issues, but my sister (dubbed Queen Wheezy) was having SERIOUS issues, we had to be at the caves at 1:50pm for our tour (you hike up by yourself) and we made it with like 5 minutes to spare. but I will never forget how hard it was to hike up that freaking mountain....aren't caves suppose to be underground? geez.

Timpanogos Caves
The stalagmites and stalagtites were so beautiful :D I had never seen them in real life, and so it was a new and great experience for me. that was the good part, and the caves are 45 degrees, so it was nice and cool after the hot hike.

that night we went to go see shrek 2...not as good as the first one. :( but still pretty funny :) and we at Joe's Crab Shack. SOOOOOOO funny, it's kinda like bubba gumps, but more random. :) tons of decoration and a really nice/funny waiter :D Joe's Crab Shack :D

Thursday: We went to the Olympic Park pretty cool, we had some issues figuring out the tour, but in the end we got the shuttle tour, and the tourguides were really cool :D DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN some of those sports are high up....the Nordic Jump is for insane people only...LoL we went on the bobsled ride...that was so fun. It was like nothing i've ever experienced before, I don't know how people who train for the olympics do that more than once, and our driver had been doing that at least 5 times in the past 10 minutes! it's insanely fast, and the Gforces are strong....and there's 15 turns...it was a lot of fun though LoL

that night we watched the Mormon Tabernacle Choir reherse...it was okay...it sounded like christmas music with the big choir. they were good and deserve to be world famous though, we only stayed for an hour.

Friday: was a kick back day, Jamie and I went swimming...I still can't get that chlorine smell outta my hair gah...We tried out the hot tub on our balcony veeeeery nice..perfect with the view and everything..and then I went to the gym for a little bit and then just relaxed the whole day.

saturday...I was just really realy glad to be home. Utah isn't too too bad to visit, but I could definitely not live there....it's just too out there LoL
